 This fantasy football season has been nothing short of a disaster for me. Heading into the season, I had high hopes after what seemed like a solid draft. But from the very start, my team was plagued by injuries for key players. Week after week, it felt like I was losing another important player to an unexpected injury or watching someone underperform against even the easiest matchups. It’s tough to see the potential on my roster, only to be let down when Sunday rolls around and points are hard to come by. Every lineup decision has become a gamble, often not paying off as I'd hoped.

Adding to the frustration, I’ve had players on my team who simply haven’t played up to their usual standards. It's weird to see players who were projected to be consistent point-scorers struggling to deliver even the basics. I realize now that part of my problem was drafting certain players based on loyalty or emotions rather than sound, strategic analysis. I gravitated toward players I enjoyed watching or had faith in, rather than objectively assessing their potential. Fantasy football demands that you detach from biases and stay focused on the numbers and projections—lesson learned, albeit the hard way. I even tried multiple trades to try and change up my team but that ended up being even worse for me in the long run due to bye weeks.

As a result, I now sit at a disheartening 1-9 record, with last place looming uncomfortably close. It’s been a humbling experience, watching my season slowly unravel as other teams flourish. But while it’s been disappointing, this season has shown me the importance of maintaining a strategic, numbers-focused approach. Fantasy football is a game of calculated risks, not sentimental choices. Going forward, I'll definitely let stats, not emotion, guide my choices so I can build a team that competes all season long.

    Fantasy Football may be my favorite hobby of all time. I spend all my weekends fully engaged into the tv. Even this week, I was stuck between starting Bo Nix or Russell Wilson, and thank god I started Nix because he won me my matchup.

    Aaron, I empathize with you completely. I have had previous seasons that have ended up in complete failures due to injuries or my players underperforming. However, this season has been my best of all time. Because of the package Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry, and Bijan Robinson that I have, I am 9-2 and at the very top of my league.

Book 1 Post 2

 After reading Brian Cox's book, Putting The Rabbit In the Hat, there are a few key takeaway that I was able to come back with. Not only was his upbringing filled with hard ship and sadness, but it showed how those hardships ultimately led him to becoming the person he is today and how it impacted his fruitful acting career. He started off with loving theater and he had a deep connection with the Dundee theater in Scotland. He was extremely passionate about Shakespeare and mentioned how the major turning point of his career was the when he spent his time at the RSC (Royal Shakespeare Company).  One thing I found interesting while reading the book was that he talks about his peer actors and his opinions about them. He mentioned that Johny Depp is overrated. He also talks about Michael Caine's career as being able to do the same thing over and over again. Book 2 Post 1

 For book number two I have decided to choose the option, The Science of Creating a Compassionate World, more specifically  Invisible Influence: The Hidden Forces that Shape Behavior . Even before reading the book I took interest into the title. The recent events with a variety of different conflicts between countries, within countries, and even personal, I looked at the title and thought, the world could really use this right now. One thing that I have always been taught at home is to have compassion and to always try to understand why people do what they do and try not to judge someone based off surface level actions or statements.  One goal that I have going into reading this is to try to develop different ways other than my current practices of being compassionate and understand the rules of what drives my actions and point out which rules are negatively effecting my life.
